The BR04 is the largest stand mount speaker in the Borea range and it's a gem.
As modern stand mounters go it's quite a substantial box, but they're by no means massive and simply prove an ideal internal volume for the 6.5" paper coned mid/bass driver to work within.
The mid/bass driver works in combination with a 1" soft dome tweeter with a fairly high claimed crossover point (3.2kHz).
They're easy to drive and of good efficiency for a compact speaker with decent bass extension, which makes every amplifier sound better, and allows you to concentrate on the quality and not quantity of the connected amplifier.
The sound is open and natural, the midrange is very well presented, sounding light and breezy, clean and fast. The bottom end is well balanced and should not overpower even smaller rooms.
They appear to have a remarkably low cabinet signature despite the fairly large cabinet panels and with them being a speaker at this low price point.
They have quickly become my favourite affordable speaker, and I can think of many, many designs at twice the price that cannot hold a candle to them, which is great as that saving can be put towards the rest of the system, and you know what? The BR04 are revealing enough that they will show you exactly where that money has gone.
There are multiple finishes available on this model, some of which make a really nice change from normal.
