Supra LoRad 2.5 MKII SPC Silver Plated Mains Cable

The LoRad 2.5mkII SPC (Silver Plated Copper) mains cable is a limited edition version of their classic mains cable design introduced to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

The SPC part of the name refers to the Silver Plated Copper used for the conductors, in place of the tin plate used elsewhere in the range.

It is available in both unterminated lengths* for assembly at home or with Supra factory terminations of a UK 13A mains plug to a 10A IEC or a 16A IEC (Large rectangular IEC).

*To order longer lengths of unterminated wire please just select the quantity of metres required and we will supply it in one continuous length up to 100metres. We also stock the matching Supra mains plugs and IEC connectors so that you can make the cable

The Swedish made LoRad cable gets its name from the 'Low Radiation' of noise due to its innovative screening which uses a unique semi-conductive Carbon/Nylon tape shield combined with tin-plated OFC conductors. This construction eliminates radiating alternating fields and blocks surrounding RF and EM interference from sources such as mobile phones, WiFi, and broadcast signals. The short-pitch twisting of lead cores further cancels magnetic fields, ensuring interference-free operation and cleaner sound or video performance.

The conductors are 3 x 2.5 mm² silver plated oxygen free copper in PE (PolyEthylene) insulation, within an overall PVC jacket and despite the relatively chunky overall diameter the cable is usefully flexible and its light blue colour makes it unobtrusive in use.

This cable is ideal where low noise is critical, this can include hi-fi, medical equipment, studios, and noisy environments. 

We find this cable is suited for mid level equipment, it produces a warm smooth sound with good bass fullness and improved clarity over their tin plated cables.
