The Moonstone is the sixth model up in the slightly confusingly named Oyster series of cartridges from Sumiko. This takes the successful Olympia recipe and tweaks the stylus assembly even further with a very small 0.5mm diameter aluminium cantilever and lower mass magnets, both with the aim of reducing moving mass even further. The output does drop due to a fairly low (by MM standards) 3mV due to the reduced magnet size.

An Elliptical bonded diamond is used on a revised Aluminium cantilever.  Unusually at this price point it also features an Alnico magnet, which are prized for their natural and grain free character.

This cartridge can also be downgraded by fitting the Rainier and Olympia stylus, and upgraded by fitting the Wellfleet stylus (as we as playing 78 records with the RS78 stylus).
