We have traded in this RP8 to help a customer upgrade.
It's a very nice condition example, all that marks it down is that the gloss finish of the plinth has some light marks where the lid rests on it at the corners, and lid has the usual cleaning marks which are almost inevitable with these clear lids (replacement ones are available in our webshop if desired).
We had the cartridge rebuilt by Rega in August 2024 and the customer believes it has had approximately 250 hours of use since then.
The deck will be serviced and will be supplied with a brand new pair of Reference EBLT drive belts.
This turntable is exactly as originally supplied, and is a really clever design. It is the predecessor to the PL8 but in many ways an even cleverer design - I say this as it's effectively two turntables in one. It can either be a rather conventional looking deck with a hinged/lift of dust cover or with the outer frame removed you get a skeletal deck with even greater performance.
The TT-PSU electronic power supply gives 33.3 and 45rpm switching.
The Apheta 2 is an excellent MC (Moving Coil) cartridge, with great speed and resolution and impressive low frequency clout too.
We can ship this turntable within the UK (original packaging is included) but we would strongly recommend collection if at all possible.
If shipping we will remove the counterweight, so this will need to be refitted and the arm balanced accordingly (this is easy to do). No manual is included but this can be downloaded from the Rega website.
