In the Planar 6 RS Rega have taken the ever popular Planar 6 design and upgraded it both sonically and aesthetically.
The tonearm has also been upgraded to the RB880 (instead of the RB330 on the non RS version) and it's mounted on a plinth that is now clad with the brilliant brushed aluminium effect skin. This retains the aerospace derived foam cored material that follows the low mass ethos that Rega pursue, whilst desirably increasing stiffness too!
The twin belt drive setup from the Planar 8 is also featured on the 6 RS.
It's packaged with the ND9 cartridge, a superb MM design that really compliments the sound of the turntable and at a package price that makes it great deal.
The Planar 6RS is hand made in the UK (in Southend on Sea) and is supplied with a pre calibrated Neo power supply which produces a clean and accurate waveform whilst also allowing electronic speed change between 33.3 and 45 rpm.
A tinted lid is included which can be hinged upwards or lifted off entirely.
