This diminutive VA-One has just come in on a part exchange. Under its wonderfully retro chassis lurks an all valve amplifier design that uses a pair of EL84 valves per channel.
Somehow Quad managed to pack in an internal DAC, so along with the single analogue RCA Line level input there's an optical, coaxial and USB connection. There's Bluetooth too, making this amplifier great for both a main systems as well as an application in a compact second system- like an office, kitchen or TV room.
We sold this to the original owner in November 2017 and it has clearly been cherished since, as it's in immaculate condition and comes with the original packaging, remote control, extra long screwdriver for the cage and manual.
The valves are the original ones, we have no reason to think that these require immediate replacement, but the output valves (in particular) may benefit from being changed at some point.
For this reason we have also included an option to purchase a set of Electro Harmonix EL84 valves for anyone that wants to buy them at the same time as the amplifier. Please note these valves are not stock items, so will be supplied within approximately 3-4 working days.
