Ortofon MC X10 MC Cartridge

The MC X10 is the latest starting point in the Ortofon Moving Coil cartridge range. This model is incredibly good value, lowering the admission price of admission into their MC designs.

Like all models in the MC X range it features a chassis made with by Metal Injection Moulding a stainless steel honeycomb structure. This is then sintered and coated with a vapour deposited finish. The result is claimed to be an incredibly stiff, but lightweight chassis for the moving parts to work within.

The coils are wound from pure silver and every detail down to the material of the suspension is carefully considered - the extent that the rubber dampers are designed and made in house.

The MC X10 features a tipped elliptical stylus which is mounted on an aluminium tube cantilever and effectively replaces the Ortofon Quintet Red cartridge.

As MC cartridges do not have removable stylus assemblies Ortofon have an 'exchange' scheme where your old worn/damaged Ortofon MC cartridge is used as a credit against any other Ortofon MC cartridge.
