This is the Mono version of the 2M range from Ortofon. This MM cartridge is intended for playback of all 33.3 and 45 rpm mono records (not 78s, there's a different model for that task).

It features a one piece 'nude' 18 μm spherical stylus that has been optimised for getting the best results out of mono records. The Generator designed as a true mono design for best performance and means it can be connected to any stereo tonearm/system without the need to make any other changes.

-2M MONO This is the model everyone thinks of when they think of this cartridge, it's a very well reviewed design.

-2MR MONO This is an exciting addition to the range - the 2M series are quite tall cartridges, so the 2MR is a shorter height version and is proving popular with owners of turntables with height restrictions (like some Rega decks, for example). This cartridge is a little lighter than the standard model, but otherwise the same.

-2M MONO Verso Identical to standard height 2M MONO but with male cartridge threads extending out of the cartridge (rather than internal female threads), for use where conventional threaded inserts on the standard model are not usable.

-2M MONO Premounted This is a standard 2M MONO pre mounted into a 'SME' type removable headshell

The 2M range features Ortofon's Spilt-Pole Pin generator to reduce eddy currents and extend and flatten the frequency response.
