Audion Select MC1 Step Up Transformer

The Select MC1 is, as you'd expect from Audion, a very high performance step up transformer. Housed in their familiar stainless topped aluminium chassis, this is a pleasingly substantial and smart looking product. The sound produced is bold and substantial in the way only a transformer can manage when it has large and high quality cores. 

The transformers are hand wound in their own manufacturing facility to their exacting standards. They feature substantial cores and produce a very wide and flat response (10Hz to 20kHz) and is only -3dB down at 60kHz, well surpassing the inherent limitations of the vinyl source itself.

The Select MC1 can be switched between a ratio of 1:10 ratio or 1:20, the latter having higher gain and presenting a lower impedance to the cartridge. This means it will cover the great majority of MC cartridges on the market.
