The AT-VM95EBK is an alternative model to the 95E, the only difference is that this model has a black coloured stylus rather than the more traditional striking green colour. In all other respects it's the same - so it's a bonded elliptical stylus, and it's the second level up in the Audio Technica AT-VM95 range.
The AT-VM95EBK has big boots to fill, as it's the modern day version of the classic AT-95E cartridge, one of the most popular and best sounding budget cartridges of the last few decades. Naturally it does so with aplomb! This is an excellent cartridge and often finds homes on quite hi-end turntables as it is so well balanced and such exceptional value for money.
As the name suggest this model features an Elliptical stylus and that means it offers improved detail retrieval and high frequency quality over the entry level 'C' model.
The cartridge body is threaded reducing some of the fiddliness of fitting a cartridge. The cantilever is made of Aluminium.
Thanks to the removable stylus assembly you can fit styli from other models in the VMN95 range to downgrade or upgrade the performance or even to play 78 rpm records on it (on a suitable turntable naturally).
