This is the latest version of the classic Audio Technica AT33 MC Cartridge range. The new 'x' update feature various refinements that take it to the next performance level.
The AT33xEN has been designed to be an excellent all-around cartridge choice, delivering a warm and full-bodied audio sound. It features a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude stylus attached to a hard duralumin tapered pipe cantilever to provide excellent tracking of the record groove with enhanced high-frequency control.
The newly developed suspension mechanism uses piano wire for even better tracking accuracy, lowering the dynamic compliance slightly for more substantial audio, particularly in the mid-low range. This newly developed suspension mechanism and rubber damper design (with lower dynamic compliance than other A-T cartridges) enable the cartridge to be used with a variety of tonearms.
Two independent PCOCC coils are positioned at the cantilever’s fulcrum to ensure pure signal transmission for each channel - It's a dual moving coil design, featuring independent left and right coils, provides outstanding channel separation. The coils are wound from PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) copper.
The magnetic system features a Neodymium magnet and permendur yoke maximise energy efficiency for high-resolution, responsive playback.
The body of the cartridge is made from a combination of materials including diecast zinc, aluminium and a high rigidity polymer, all with the aim of increasing rigidity and reducing resonance.
