The OTO SE 35 Silver Signature integrated amplifier celebrates the 35th anniversary since the original Oto was introduced.

The updates including bespoke in-house components and a redesigned power supply. According to Audio Note’s designers, the update delivers stronger, more realistic bass while preserving the musical character that made the Oto a classic.

“Over the last three decades, the design of the Oto has undergone various evolutions,” says Chief Designer Andy Grove. “I decided it was time to give the Oto SE a complete makeover. The result is an amplifier with a more realistic 'bass kick', the kind of physical presence you feel when you are in the room with a kick drum or a bass guitar. It remains an all-round musical, fun-to-live-with amplifier, but it can now summon a serious amount of attitude when the recording demands it.”

The OTO SE integrated amplifier uses EL84 valves in parallel single ended configuration, producing an output of 10 watts and is available with or without an internal an all valve MM phono stage. It’s all housed within the classic Audio Note casework which is available with either a black acrylic or brushed aluminium fascia. As you’d expect with a good single ended amplifier the sound is punchy and dynamic, whilst still being very natural and expansive.

The phono stage is a very good quality design too, and not simply an afterthought like many. A fractionally more powerful push pull version is available, but we would always recommend this SE version for the best sound quality.
