The M6 Balanced (CD Input) pre amplifier is available in line only and MM phono equipped versions. Think of it as an M6 but where the normally single ended CD input now comes in via a balanced (XLR) connection, which is converted by the use of a very high quality input transformer. There are of course several other unbalanced line level inputs if you want the choice between RCA and XLR connections.
For best sound and stereo separation there is an individual stepped attenuator volume control per channel.
The line only version uses an ECC82 and 7044 valve with a 6X5 valve rectified power supply, which includes and ECL82 for voltage regulation and a 5651 as a voltage stabiliser.
Silver wiring, tantalum resistors, along with Audio Note Copper foil in oil capacitors and electrolytic capacitors ensures that the signal passes only through very high quality components. The circuit outputs through UHiB C-Core transformers with copper primary windings and silver secondaries.
The phono version includes an exceptional phono stage, with an EQ circuit designed around three 5670 valves.
