The Gaku-On is the pinnacle of the Audio Note power amplifier range. These monoblock amplifiers use New Old Stock 211 output valves in parallel single ended configuration which produce 45 watts per channel. 

The signal path contains no coupling capacitors, instead each stage has its own silver wired transformer, three in total per channel. The input valve is a NOS VT25/10Y and as you’d expect the component quality is no compromise, Audio Notes largest Tantalum resistors and Black Gate capacitors are used throughout. Naturally the output transformers are also silver wired using the finest cores available.

The choke smoothed power supply is rectified by two NOS 5R4WGB rectifiers.

As you'd expect of an Audio Note product at this level, these are truly extraordinary amplifiers. They are one of the most convincingly musically transparent designs I've ever heard. 

There is the ability to hear 'through' the recording in a way few others allow, each recorded venue and performance is shown seemingly without the constraints that other amplifiers impinge upon them. The dynamics, and the 'massless' way that they seem to go from delicacy to thunder is quite awe inspiring. If they add any character I haven't been able to pin point it...
