The Audio Note Isis speaker cable is effectively a copper version of the Sootoo, and therefore the top of the copper range of cables.

The Isis LX featuring 168 fine strands of copper of differing diameter, and like all of the upper level cables in the range it's a Litz design, meaning each of the very fine strands has its own thin layer of (polyurethane) insulation. These strands are twisted to form the conductor a single core.

The cable design is quite unusual as each cable contains 8 separately insulated groups of these cores, with four different diameters. Cable designers tend to agree that thicker strands of conductors tend towards the lower frequencies and thinner ones to the upper ones, so this topology aims to bring the best of both worlds. These cores orbit cotton central strands and the assembly is then encased within an outer screen.

It can be used in several ways but as terminated by Audio Note for best performance it is used as two cables per speaker (one for positive and one for negative) for single wire and four for bi wire. Generally the cables are then very lightly twisted together.

The result is an exciting and boisterous cable, one that really grabs hold of rhythms along with bold dynamics.

We can sell this cable unterminated, but due to the litz coating it is a quite tricky to terminate than cables without the right experience/tools (ideally a high temperature solder bath).
