Featuring a high strand count of 96 for a thick cross sectional area combined with the sonic purity seemingly only achieved with Litz construction means that the Sogon allows the real weight and scale of a recording, along with its delicacy and airiness to be faithfully transmitted, this is cable that has to be heard to be believed. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"plain\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eLike all of the upper level cables in the range it's a litz design, meaning each of the very fine strands has its own thin layer of (polyurethane) insulation. These strands are made from 99.99% pure silver and there are 96 of them in this cable, twisted to form the conductor a single cable.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThe cable design is quite unusual as each cable contains 4 separately insulated groups of litz conductors, and of those two feature groups of thicker strands and two thinner strands. Cable designers tend to agree that thicker strands of conductors tend towards the lower frequencies and thinner ones to the upper ones, so this topology aims to bring the best of both worlds.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eIt can be used in several ways but as terminated by Audio Note for best performance it is used as two cables per speaker (one for positive and one for negative) for single wire and four for bi wire. These cables can be lightly twisted together (my preference) or left well spaced.
